Lifeknox Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Lifeknox, including https://my.lifeknox.io/login and any related Lifeknox websites, products, features, or services that link to these Terms.

By creating an account, accessing Lifeknox, or using Lifeknox, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Lifeknox.

1. What Lifeknox Is

Lifeknox is a life-organization tool designed to help users store, organize, and share important information in one place.

Depending on what you choose to add, Lifeknox may be used to store information such as codes, passwords, vehicle information, employment information, emergency contacts, personal instructions, pet information, veterinary information, pet medical information, and other information you choose to include.

Lifeknox may add additional features over time, including family tools, medical-information tools, estate-planning tools, sharing tools, interactive features, payment features, and other life-organization services.

2. What Lifeknox Is Not

Lifeknox is not a law firm, medical provider, financial advisor, tax advisor, estate planner, insurance provider, veterinarian, emergency service, or fiduciary.

Lifeknox does not provide legal, medical, financial, tax, estate-planning, veterinary, emergency, or professional advice.

Information stored in Lifeknox is for organization and reference only. You are responsible for deciding what information to store, how to use it, whether it is accurate, and whether to consult a qualified professional.

Do not rely on Lifeknox as your only source for urgent, emergency, legal, medical, financial, estate-planning, or safety-related information.

3. Emergency Disclaimer

Lifeknox is not an emergency service.

Do not use Lifeknox as a substitute for calling 911, contacting emergency responders, contacting a doctor, contacting a veterinarian, contacting a lawyer, contacting a fiduciary, contacting a financial institution, or taking other direct action in an emergency.

Lifeknox does not guarantee that stored information will be available, accurate, complete, or accessible at the exact time it is needed.

4. Eligibility

Lifeknox is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account or use Lifeknox.

By using Lifeknox, you represent that you are legally able to enter into these Terms.

5. Your Account

You may need to create an account to use Lifeknox. You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your account information reasonably current.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to use a strong and unique password, keep your login credentials confidential, enable any available two-factor authentication or additional security features, maintain control of your devices, and promptly notify Lifeknox if you believe your account has been compromised.

6. Your Content

“User Content” means information, materials, files, data, text, notes, instructions, records, or other content that you upload, enter, store, organize, or share through Lifeknox.

You own your User Content. Lifeknox does not claim ownership of your User Content.

You give Lifeknox permission to process, store, transmit, display, and otherwise use your User Content as reasonably necessary to provide, operate, secure, troubleshoot, improve, and support Lifeknox, and as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for your User Content, including its accuracy, legality, completeness, and appropriateness for storage in Lifeknox.

7. Sensitive Information

Lifeknox may allow you to store sensitive information. You decide what to store.

You should use judgment before storing highly sensitive, confidential, regulated, or critical information in any online service. Lifeknox is designed with privacy and security in mind, but no online service can guarantee perfect security, uninterrupted availability, or permanent preservation of information.

You should maintain independent copies of information that is critical to you.

8. Passwords and Access Codes

If you choose to store passwords, access codes, account numbers, or similar information in Lifeknox, you do so at your own discretion.

You are responsible for maintaining backup access to critical accounts and for complying with any terms, policies, or laws that apply to those accounts.

Lifeknox is not responsible for loss of access to third-party accounts, unauthorized access caused by your sharing decisions, weak passwords, compromised devices, or failure to maintain independent records.

9. Sharing Features

Lifeknox may allow you to share certain information with people you choose, such as family members, emergency contacts, fiduciaries, lawyers, executors, pet caretakers, or other trusted individuals.

You are responsible for deciding whom to share with, what to share, and whether the recipient is authorized and trustworthy.

Once you share information with another person, Lifeknox is not responsible for how that person uses, stores, copies, discloses, protects, or relies on that information.

You agree not to share another person’s personal information through Lifeknox unless you have the right or authorization to do so.

10. User Responsibilities

You agree not to:

use Lifeknox for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, abusive, or unauthorized purposes;
access or attempt to access another person’s account without permission;
interfere with or disrupt Lifeknox or its systems;
upload malware, malicious code, or harmful materials;
misuse sharing features;
violate another person’s privacy, confidentiality, intellectual-property rights, or legal rights;
use Lifeknox to store or distribute unlawful content;
reverse engineer, scrape, copy, or misuse the platform except as permitted by law;
misrepresent your identity or authority; or
use Lifeknox in a way that could harm Lifeknox, other users, or third parties.

11. Privacy

Your use of Lifeknox is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we may share it, how we protect it, and what choices may be available to you.

12. Security

Lifeknox uses reasonable physical, technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information.

Lifeknox uses encryption in transit and encryption at rest. Information transmitted through Lifeknox is protected using TLS/HTTPS. Lifeknox may use third-party infrastructure, including Firebase/Google, for certain authentication, hosting, database, or related services.

No method of transmission over the internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure. Lifeknox does not guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for protecting your own account, devices, browsers, passwords, and access credentials.

13. Early-Stage Product Notice

Lifeknox is an early-stage product. Features may change, improve, be limited, break, be delayed, be removed, or be replaced.

We are building Lifeknox with care, but early-stage services may have bugs, downtime, incomplete features, limited support, and changing vendors or infrastructure.

You understand that Lifeknox may not always operate perfectly and that you should not use Lifeknox as your only copy, backup, or access point for critical information.

14. Availability and Backups

Lifeknox may be unavailable from time to time due to maintenance, updates, technical issues, outages, security events, vendor problems, or other reasons.

We do not guarantee that Lifeknox will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

You are responsible for maintaining independent backups or copies of information that is important, urgent, legally significant, medically significant, financially significant, or otherwise critical.

15. Third-Party Services

Lifeknox may rely on third-party services for hosting, authentication, database services, analytics, email delivery, customer support, payment processing, security, and other operational needs.

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. Lifeknox is not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.

If Lifeknox links to a third-party website, app, product, or service, that link does not mean Lifeknox endorses or controls that third party.

16. Payments and Subscriptions

Lifeknox does not currently collect payment information directly.

If paid features, subscriptions, or payment functionality are added, payment information may be processed by a third-party payment processor. Lifeknox does not intend to store full credit card numbers or sensitive payment credentials directly.

Future paid services may be subject to additional payment terms, subscription terms, cancellation rules, renewal terms, and refund policies.

Unless otherwise stated in a separate written policy, fees paid to Lifeknox are non-refundable to the fullest extent permitted by law.

17. Intellectual Property

Lifeknox and its software, design, branding, trademarks, logos, text, graphics, features, and other content are owned by Lifeknox or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property and other laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on Lifeknox except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms gives you ownership of Lifeknox or its intellectual property.

18. Feedback

If you send us ideas, comments, suggestions, or feedback about Lifeknox, you agree that we may use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.

You are not required to provide feedback.

19. Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account or access to Lifeknox if we believe you have violated these Terms, created security risk, misused the service, failed to pay amounts owed, violated the rights of others, or used Lifeknox in a way that may harm Lifeknox, users, or third parties.

You may stop using Lifeknox at any time.

After termination, we may retain or delete information as described in our Privacy Policy and as permitted or required by law.

20. Disclaimers

Lifeknox is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lifeknox disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, reliability, security, and error-free operation.

Lifeknox does not guarantee that:

the service will always be available;
the service will be uninterrupted or error-free;
all information will be preserved or recoverable;
all stored information will be accurate, complete, or current;
unauthorized access will never occur;
third-party services will function properly; or
Lifeknox will meet your particular needs.

21. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lifeknox and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, loss of access, loss of goodwill, business interruption, unauthorized access, or damages arising from reliance on information stored in Lifeknox.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lifeknox’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to Lifeknox or these Terms will not exceed the greater of: (1) the amount you paid to Lifeknox in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim; or (2) $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

22. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Lifeknox and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, agents, service providers, and affiliates from and against claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or relating to:

your use of Lifeknox;
your User Content;
your sharing of information through Lifeknox;
your violation of these Terms;
your violation of law;
your violation of another person’s rights; or
your misuse of Lifeknox.

23. Changes to Lifeknox

We may modify, update, suspend, discontinue, limit, or remove any part of Lifeknox at any time.

We are not liable for changes to Lifeknox, including the removal or modification of features.

24. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted through Lifeknox or on our website with a new effective date.

Your continued use of Lifeknox after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms, except where additional consent is required by law.

If you do not agree to updated Terms, you should stop using Lifeknox.

25. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

26. Dispute Resolution

Before filing a claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting Lifeknox at privacy@lifeknox.ioWe will also try to resolve disputes informally when practical.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may pursue available remedies in a court of competent jurisdiction, unless a separate written agreement requires a different process.

You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to Lifeknox or these Terms will be brought in the state courts located in Virginia, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

27. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

28. No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not waive our right to enforce that provision later.

29. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.

Lifeknox may assign or transfer these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction.

30. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms that apply to specific features, make up the entire agreement between you and Lifeknox regarding your use of the service.
